The First Academy is a Christ-centered, college-preparatory school serving over 1,450 Central Florida students across four academic divisions – Upper School (9th-12th), Middle School (7th-8th), Lower School (K4-6th), and the Extended Educational Programs (Preschool, Homeschool, and Special Needs).

Since our opening in 1987, TFA has continued to grow the academic, fine arts, and athletic programs that have elevated its students to the highest levels of achievement. More importantly, though, as a private school TFA has helped develop its students’ strength of character, leading these young men and women to serve others in their own community and across the globe.

Specialities

The First Academy Upper School, grades 9-12, is comprised of 475+ students split between five houses and a faculty of forty certified, degreed professionals. In January 2009, a new Upper School Building opened its doors to students. This world-class facility has enhanced our academic rigor and enriched our diverse extra-curricular programming.

The building includes four science labs, a media production center, computer lab, and spacious art facilities. Each classroom has video projection capabilities designed to support an individual teacher’s instructional style.

The middle school years are marked with much change and growth. At The First Academy, the Middle School team focuses on walking with students and parents through these transitional years. Our desire is to help students focus on their spiritual, academic, artistic, and athletic gifts and talents to help them grow and mature into godly men and women who love and serve their Lord and the global community.

The First Academy’s Lower School division serves students in K4 (4 years old as of September 1st), Transitional Kindergarten (TK – 5 years old as of September 1st) and (5 years old as of September 1st) Kindergarten through sixth grade. One of the core educational beliefs of The First Academy is that all students can learn and succeed in a loving environment where expectations are high. Teachers at The First Academy understand that children are unique and do not all share the same learning style. Teachers take time to learn the unique strengths and weaknesses of every student and strive to provide a wide array of educational methods to implement instruction. The school strives to provide a consistently challenging curriculum to benefit all learners within the classroom setting. Each grade-level team works together to identify individual student needs and abilities, then develops strategies to address those needs effectively.
