South Carolina Virtual Charter School is an AdvancED accredited school that provides a competitive, individualized education experience. The school offers a wide variety of courses, including world languages, honors, and AP®. A dual credit program enables qualified high school students to earn college credits on select courses. The school offers career technical education courses for high school students who wish to get a head start on preparing for a career or college. Students may also participate in social outings, field trips, and extracurricular clubs.

K-8 Curriculum The K–8 program includes more than 75 online courses in seven subjects: language arts/English, history, math, science, music, art, and world languages. The curriculum was created by a team of experts at K12, using tried-and-true educational approaches for instruction. Our core courses—Language Arts/English, Math, Science, History, and Art—are combined into a rich, full-time schooling option.
High School Urriculum The K12 High School Course Catalog is robust, offering more than 90 core, elective, and Advanced Placement ® (AP®) courses. K12 Math, Language Arts, Science, and History courses are offered in multiple versions to meet the needs of diverse learners with diverse goals. Up to four levels of World Languages are offered as well. Students can chart their own course, choosing from among the four levels of courses to match their aptitude and goals.

Specialities

Dual credit is an opportunity for students to earn college credit for equivalent courses taken in high school, reducing a family's eventual cost of college. SCVCS has developed partnerships with many 2 and 4 year colleges throughout the state to provide students with this opportunity. These opportunities are provided in a structured face-to-face classroom and through online instruction.
