IVLA was born on the vision of providing an alternative learning environment for students who, for a very wide variety of reasons, needed academic resources beyond the traditional classroom. IVLA’s comprehensive online assessment and instructional system, highly qualified and committed faculty, and a broad selection of K-12 online courses provide superior alternative educational opportunities domestically and internationally.

IVLA’s educational philosophy recognizes that every online student can be successful given the “right” amount of support by curriculum, faculty, and of course, parents. Every IVLA students’ academic plan is individualized to their learning needs, frequently reviewed, and supported by teachers, parents, mentors, and students.

Elementary School Courses International Virtual Learning Academy provides a full education for online elementary school students. Our markedly easy to use, engaging digital curriculum, certified teachers and mentors build the child’s solid foundation and start them on the path to lifelong academic success. Generally, elementary students take 4 core courses: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. These foundation courses further build the fundamentals necessary for success in each year to come. Additionally, online elementary students will enjoy bi-weekly live homeroom sessions where they will get to know their fellow classmates. Not to mention engaging in fun activities! These sessions are conducted in private virtual classrooms and led by their mentor. Parents are also welcome to join all homeroom sessions.
Middle School Courses IVLA provides a full education for middle school students. IVLA’s online middle school focuses on the student’s ability to start working directly with subject area teachers. Middle school students traditionally take 4 core courses: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. These courses, certified teachers, and mentors are geared to preparing students for future success in high school. Students vary in their academic abilities so IVLA offers courses that will help your student fill in the gaps or accelerate their learning. Students and parents will work with their mentor to be sure the needs of their student are being met. Middle school students may earn high school credit in math or foreign language. Students who have met the math prerequisites for Algebra I, Geometry or Algebra II, may take these courses for high school credit. Seventh and eighth-grade students may also take a foreign language either within their desired program or Rosetta Stone.
High School Courses International Virtual Learning Academy provides a full education for high school students. Students meeting the graduation requirements will be issued an accredited High School Diploma. IVLA offers a variety of online curriculum for students at all levels. IVLA has a complete selection of core academic, electives, honors and AP courses. Each English, Math, Science, and Social Studies course is taught by a teacher certified in that subject matter. An academic advisor will work with each student to create an individualized academic plan. The student will be assigned a mentor who will help them achieve their goals whether it be college or career. The high school will have the option to participate in monthly club meetings where they can interact with other students in a safe environment. High School students can earn credit for their participation in one of IVLA’s clubs.

Specialities

Dual enrollment (AKA concurrent enrollment) is a program which allows a student to enroll through one educator while receiving credits for two different schools. With IVLA, we offer concurrent enrollment for high school students to receive both high school and college credit for completing one course.
This allows students to begin obtaining college credit before having graduated high school. If enough concurrent enrollment classes are taken during a student’s high school career, this could put them on track to graduate college early.

Dual enrollment offers many benefits to both the student and the parent who may need to consider the costs of college. The more college credits a student receives concurrently with their high school studies, the fewer courses will be needed to graduate college. This can effectively save parents and students quite a bit of money! Additionally, dual enrollment gives students the opportunity to graduate college sooner; a great benefit for students eager to begin their careers. Lastly, as these courses are executed and graded by ASU professors, high school students quickly learn college-level material. Dual enrollment is a great tool to prepare students for college.
