Baker Web Academy is a FREE, home-based schooling option for Oregon kids. Add educator home-visits to premium-quality curriculum choices and you’ll see how Baker Web Academy focuses attention where it should be — on your child’s education! BWA offers (at no cost to Oregon families) a full selection of online classes, textbook-based classes, teacher support, technology, and face to face learning/support opportunities.

Courses

K-5 Curriculum Students can choose from our Inclusive options or from our Choice options. These options include textbook work, online work or a mixture of both. A program must be chosen for each of the four core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies (with the exception of Kindergarten where Social Science is optional). If requested, a laptop will be provided for K-5 students.
6-8 Curriculum Students can choose from our Inclusive options or from our Choice options (up to two textbook options for 6th-8th). These options include textbook work, online work or a mixture of both. A program must be chosen for each of the four core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. 6th-8th may also take elective classes, such as keyboarding, foreign language and/or health. Please speak to your Advisory Teacher about elective offerings. A laptop may be provided for all 6th-8th-grade students.
9-12 Curriculum For our high school level students Baker Web Academy offers a blend of carefully selected, high-quality, digital curriculum programs. Students work with their Counselor or Advisory Teacher to choose from our wide variety of programs to create a uniquely personalized program. For language arts, science, and social studies, our students work in Acellus, Odyssey Ware or Florida Virtual School programs.

AdvancED We are accredited by AdvancED. AdvancED insists on a relentless pursuit of excellence – for itself and for the institutions it accredits.

Specialities

Open to all 9-12 graders, including incoming freshman wishing to get ahead in high school credits. Students from outside Baker Charter Schools are welcome to attend. Curriculum choices are Acellus, Aleks, Odyssey Ware or Rosetta Stone, with one written Canvas project per subject in Acellus classes. Health is only available via Odyssey Ware.
