North Carolina Connections Academy is more than a tuition–free K–12 online public school option available for students throughout North Carolina. It’s also a tight-knit school community offering all the services and resources needed to create a well-rounded student experience.

At NCCA, students receive a great public online education at no charge. There are no materials fees and no tuition charges. Our online school classes meet and exceed all national and state standards while also integrating the best texts, materials, and resources available to create a curriculum that keeps students engaged in new and creative ways.

Elementary School Curriculum Elementary students are introduced to the building blocks for success in school—reading, writing, and mathematics. Teachers weave in science, social studies, technology, art, and physical fitness to provide a well-rounded core curriculum. They supply students with hands-on instructional resources including virtual tools, kits, and workbooks. Courses available are Art, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Middle School Courses In grades 6–8, students sharpen their language arts, math, and critical thinking skills through a blend of online and offline work. . Through exciting electives, students learn new skills, find art in everyday life, and explore new technologies. They can also join clubs that enrich them in new ways, like learning about robotics or writing for the school newspaper.
High School Courses Our inclusive set of core online high school courses covers subjects in math, science, English, and social studies. We also offer many elective courses in areas such as foreign languages, digital technology, journalism, and art history.

Accreditation

AdvancED Connections Academy schools are supported by Connections Education LLC, which is accredited by AdvancED.

Specialities

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses offered by Connections Academy schools allow students to combine both college preparation and real-world workforce skills development into one customized education program. CTE courses encourage students to explore and prepare for careers in finance, marketing, psychology, criminal justice, and more.

Our Honors/AP online courses are particularly beneficial for college-bound students or any ambitious student who wishes to demonstrate mastery in a specific subject area.
