The Independent Virtual Academy is a fully accredited MAIS (Mississippi Association of Independent Schools) virtual school offering education resources for full time students (diploma granting program), international students, home-school students, and students enrolled in brick-and-mortar schools (individual courses, credit recovery, ALS). The Independent Virtual Academy shares the high academic ideals of the MAIS and is proud to bring the tradition of excellence of our Association to the virtual environment.

Middle School Courses The Independent Virtual Academy offers Middle School Courses(5-8), these courses have availability of subjects they are:- English, Math, Science, History and Social Sciences, Art, Health and Physical Education, Music, World Languages, Orientation.
High School Course The Independent Virtual Academy offers High School Course(9-12), these courses have availability of subjects they are:- English, Mathematics, Science, History, and Social Sciences, World Languages, Technology, and Computer Science, Career Technical Education (CTE) Electives, Additional Electives, Orientation.

Specialities

The Independent Virtual Academy is pleased to offer a wide selection of credit recovery courses to our students. CR courses are fully-accredited and are acceptable to be used as replacement credits on a student's report card, transcript, and permanent record.

Credit Recovery courses offered by TIVA utilize a proven diagnostic-driven model that allows students to test out of the material they have previously mastered so they can focus on the concepts that challenge them.

CR courses are offered per semester allowing a student who did not pass the full-time portion of a full-year course to recover credit for that portion while continuing to work through the second-semester portion on their campus (with admin approval/for dual-enrollment students).
