Destinations Career Academy of Colorado, an online program of Julesburg School District, is the state’s first full-time, online career technical education program approved by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE). Destinations helps students jump-start their college and career dreams with real-world training. Students can explore exciting career paths in Agriculture, Business and Marketing, Education and Teacher Training, Health Science, Information Technology (IT), and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Individualized Learning Plans target each student’s strengths and weaknesses. Colorado-licensed teachers guide progress and tailor teaching to student needs. Students can gain practical knowledge and workplace skills. Social events, extracurricular activities, and clubs help students connect. Concurrent enrollment program lets qualified students earn college credits on select courses.

Agriculture has played an important role in the lives of humans for thousands of years. It has fed us and given us materials that have helped us survive. Today, scientists and practitioners are working to improve and better understand agriculture and how it can be used to continue to sustain human life. In thiscourse, students learn about the development and maintenance of agriculture, animal systems, natural resources, and other food sources. Students also examine the relationship between agriculture and natural resources and the environment, health, politics, and world trade
This course is designed as an exploration of two career clusters. Students will get an introduction to these fields so they can better assess which pathway to pursue. In this course, students explore basic concepts in the broad areas of business and healthcare as well as career options in each area. In addition to studying concepts of entrepreneurship, accounting, and marketing, students explore these concepts on scales that range from a single person to nations. The second part of this course introduces students to the various disciplines within the health sciences, including toxicology, clinical medicine, and biotechnology. Students explore the importance of diagnostics and research in the identification and treatment of diseases.
We offer the Therapeutic Services Pathway. This program prepares students for careers in medical settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, pharmacies, and labs. Students can become certified in one of three areas: Health Information Management,medical assisting,Nursing Assistance,Pharmacy Technician,Sport Medicine.
This course is designed as an exploration of two career fields. Students receive an introduction to these fields so they can better assess which pathway to pursue. The first half of the course provides an introduction to the essentials of web design, from planning page layouts to publishing a complete site to the web. Students learn how to use HTML to design their own web pages. The course covers basic HTML tags for formatting text as well as more advanced tags. Through real-world design scenarios and hands-on projects, students create compelling, usable websites using the latest suite of free tools. The second half of the course has an introduction to engineering and to advanced manufacturing.
